Google Generation Scholarship Overview
Purpose: The Generation Google Scholarship seeks to support students who are passionate about computer science and technology.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be currently enrolled as full-time students in a Bachelor’s program at an accredited university or college during the 2023-2024 academic year.
- Intending to enroll or have already been accepted as full-time students in a Bachelor’s program at an accredited university in Europe, Middle East, or Africa for the 2024-2025 academic year.
- Studying computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Also Demonstrating a strong academic record.
- Exemplifying leadership and a commitment to improving the representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology.
Scholarship Benefits
For the academic year 2024-2025, selected students will receive a monetary award. The amount varies depending on the region:
- USD 2,500 for students in the Asia Pacific,
- 7,000 EUR (or local equivalent) for students in Europe,
- Middle East or Africa, and
- USD 10,000 for those studying in the US or CAD 5,000 for those studying in Canada.
Application process
The application process involves completing an online application which includes
- general background information,
- a resume/CV,
- academic transcripts from the current institution, and
- responses to short answer essay questions.
The essay questions assess the applicant’s problem-solving skills and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Selection Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded based on:
- Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: Candidates who actively promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrated Leadership: Evidence of leadership skills and potential.
- Academic Performance: Strong academic achievements.
- Application Deadline: Interested students should submit their applications by April 23, 2024.
