The Kazakhstan Government Scholarships 2024, administered by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, presents an exciting opportunity for international students, including ethnic Kazakhs without Kazakhstani citizenship. These scholarships aim to support students pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programs within Kazakhstan and are intended to promote academic growth and cultural exchange.

Scholarship details
A total of 550 scholarships have been allocated across various disciplines. The distribution of these scholarships is as follows:
- Bachelor’s degree program: 490 scholarships
- Master’s degree program: 50 scholarships
- PhD degree program: 10 scholarships
Eligibility
International students, including ethnic Kazakhs without Kazakhstani citizenship, are eligible to apply.
For Bachelor degree applicants: the required documents for application submission include
- an identity document,
- a document on previous education level with transcript and notarized translation (if applicable),
- a motivational essay,
- a letter of recommendation,
- a medical certificate for studying abroad,
- an application form, and
- a letter of invitation from a Kazakhstan university (optional).
Master degree applicants: in addition to all the documents required for the Bachelor degree,
- a Bachelor’s or specialist diploma with a minimum 3.0 GPA or equivalent,
- two letters of recommendation, and
- an international certificate proving proficiency in a foreign language (IELTS, TOEFL, etc.) is required.
For PhD degree applicants:
- all the documents required for the Master’s degree,
- a Master’s or specialist diploma with a minimum 3.0 GPA or equivalent, and
- substantiation of the dissertation research topic is required.
Fully Funded Opportunity
These scholarships provide full funding, covering tuition fees, living expenses, and other related costs.
Students can explore diverse fields of study, including political science, international relations, journalism, economics, and more.
Language Proficiency
While IELTS is not mandatory, students may submit their PTE (Pearson Test of English) certificate from their previous institution as per university admission requirements.
For non-native speakers, proficiency in the instruction language is a must. Applicants may need to provide scores from recognized language tests like IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent tests in German, French, or Chinese, depending on the program’s language of instruction
