The Excellence Scholarship is a renewable award offered to international students who are citizens of African countries and are admitted for the 2024 academic term or later. The scholarship is sponsored by the University of Ottawa, Canada, and is a tuition award.

The scholarship applies to African students who enroll in specified undergraduate programs in the faculties of Engineering, Science, or Social Sciences. This substantial financial aid reduces their tuition fees by $17,500 to $25,000, depending on the program.
All eligible students will automatically receive the scholarship upon enrollment, and it will be applied directly to their tuition fees. However, this scholarship cannot be combined with the Entrance Scholarship for African Students Studying in English.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the University of Ottawa Excellence Scholarship, African Students Studying in English must:
- Fulfill the admission requirements of the program in question
- Be enrolled full-time for the first time in a university undergraduate program
- Be a citizen of an African country
- Meet the academic averages required for the scholarship

Application Procedures
Interested applicants should apply for scholarships and bursaries as soon as they have applied to the University of Ottawa and have received their uoAccess ID and password.
