The University of Dundee, located in the United Kingdom, is offering a unique opportunity for international students through its Humanitarian Scholarship for the academic year 2024/25. This scholarship is also known as the Afghan Women’s Scholarship.

The scholarship is open to postgraduate students who are planning to study full-time on campus. The course must be a full 180-credit postgraduate taught course. The scholarship covers the full tuition fee waiver. If the study duration is longer than one year, only the first year will be funded.
Eligibility for the Humanitarian Scholarship
- Eligibility is extended to applicants who hold an academic offer of entry, either conditional or unconditional, for a postgraduate taught program in any of the academic schools, beginning in September 2024.
- Applicants must have Refugee or Asylum Status, or Humanitarian Protection as recognized by the 1951 UN Convention on the Status of Refugees. All fee status applicants are eligible: Scottish, RUK, EU, and International.
Please note that the University of Dundee requires all applicants to meet any English Language requirements/hold an Unconditional offer by 31st May 20241. Otherwise, places may be awarded to ‘awaiting’ applicants.
Humanitarian Scholarship for Afghan Women
The Afghan Women’s Scholarship is specifically for female applicants with Afghan nationality who are residing outside of Afghanistan at the time of application.Â
The University of Dundee does not encourage applicants who are currently resident in Afghanistan to apply, and the University is unable to make any awards to applicants currently resident in Afghanistan.
University of Dundee Humanitarian Scholarship Benefits
- In addition to the tuition fee waiver, selected candidates will receive a monthly living stipend to cover living costs while in the UK.
- They will also receive a monthly allowance for accommodation in line with the University Accommodation amount.

How to apply for the University of Dundee Humanitarian Scholarship
- Apply first to a postgraduate-taught Masters program at the University of Dundee.
- Use your Dundee application ID to apply for the scholarship.
- Upload all required documents and submit your application. Please read the key fact document specifying what supporting documents are required. Applicants who don’t submit the correct documents will not be considered. All documents must be officially translated into English to enable verification.
- The outcome of your scholarship application will be communicated in September 2024.
