The scholarship program is open to students pursuing postgraduate studies in the 2024-2025 academic year at universities in the United Kingdom. The areas of study that the scholarship covers are
Eligible for the ScottishPower Masters Scholarship
To be eligible for the ScottishPower Masters Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Academic Qualifications: Applicants must have, or expect to receive, a Bachelor’s with Honours at a minimum 2:1 (or equivalent) or Master’s degree from a recognized university upon submission of the application. Candidates with a grade point average (GPA) during the pursuit of a degree lower than “upper second class honours” for universities in the UK are not eligible to apply.
- Admission Letter: Before applying for the scholarship, the applicant must receive an offer or admission letter from the university.
- Degree Relevance: Applicants must hold a valid undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification relevant to their chosen field of study.
Course of Study
The course objectives must match the specified knowledge areas of the scholarship.
- Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronic, Offshore, Geosciences, Oceanography, Meteorology, Wind Power Engineering, Physics, Fluid Mechanics)
- Environmental Sciences,
- Climate Change,
- Sustainability, and
- Data/IT (Data, Cyber, Cyber Security, Telecoms).

However, applications from any UK university are welcome, provided that the course objectives align with the specified knowledge areas.

ScottishPower Scholarship Benefits
- Full Tuition Coverage: The scholarship covers the full tuition fees for the Master’s program.
- Living Stipend: Scholars receive a monthly stipend of £1,200.
- Company Mentor: Each scholar is assigned a company mentor to provide guidance and support throughout their studies.
- Industry-Related Project: The scholarship program assists scholars in identifying an industry-related project that can supplement their academic studies.
- Career Prospects: The scholarship ultimately helps with professional and career prospects (employment) after the completion of your studies.
In return, ScottishPower expects scholars to promote career opportunities within the company, act as STEM ambassadors for the industry, introduce future scholarship applicants to the scheme, and support any agreed-upon recruitment activities on campus or virtually.
