The World Bank has launched a pioneering initiative known as the Government Analytics Fellowship Program for 2024. This program is designed to harness the vast data resources held by governments, which are often underutilized, and use them to enhance the efficiency of public administration through data-informed decision-making.

The fellowship program spans six months and includes a concentrated full-time commitment during two weeks of in-person training in Washington, D.C. This training includes participation in the Public Administration Forum and a Government Analytics course.
To be eligible for the fellowship, applicants must meet several criteria:
- They must be able to travel to Washington DC between May 27 to June 7.
- They must be nominated by their organizations, with a maximum of two fellows per organization.
- They should be employed in central government organizations, including agencies.
- They should hold mid-level managerial or senior analyst positions (or equivalent) with the authority to develop a government analytics project.
- They must have completed prior tertiary-level coursework on statistics or related quantitative methods.
- They must be proficient in English.

How to Apply
Interested applicants must complete an online application before the deadline, March 31, 2024.
- The application should include a comprehensive CV (maximum of three pages),
- A 150-word summary of how the applicant envisions applying the insights gained to enhance their organization’s operations through a government analytics project, and
- An endorsement letter from the applicant’s organization.
The fellowship is a collaboration between the World Bank Development Economics Vice-Presidency (DEC) and the Governance Global Practice (GGP). A total of 30 fellows will be selected to participate as part of the first cohort of the World Bank Government Analytics Fellowships.
